SocialKind Academy (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates socialkindacademy.com (the “Website”), where you can purchase and access our courses, and where we may also offer physical products such as books or learning kits. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights, in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) of India.

Note: Our blog, hosted at socialkindacademy.com/blog/, is a separate, purely informational section with no payment functionality, and is covered by its own dedicated Privacy Policy. This document governs the main website, including account creation, course enrolment, and payments.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account and enrolment information
When you create an account or enrol in a course, we collect:

• Full name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Billing address
• Shipping address (only if you order a physical product that requires delivery)
• Username and password (for your account login)

b) Payment information
We currently accept payments through the following methods, and the information collected depends on how you choose to pay:

• Online payment via Razorpay — processed securely through our payment gateway partner, Razorpay. We do not collect or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials on our servers. Razorpay processes this information directly, in line with its own security standards and privacy policy. We only receive and store transaction-related details such as the order ID, payment status, amount paid, and payment date.
• Manual/Direct UPI transfer — if you pay by sending money directly to our UPI ID, we may ask you to share the UPI transaction reference number and/or a payment screenshot as proof of payment, so we can verify and confirm your order. This information is used only to match your payment to your order and is stored securely for accounting purposes.
• Cash payment — if you pay in cash (for example, in person or at an offline event), we record only the amount paid, the date, and a receipt/order reference for our accounting records. No banking or card information is involved or collected in cash transactions.

c) Information collected automatically
When you browse or shop on our Website, we may automatically collect:

• IP address, browser type, and device information
• Pages visited, products/courses viewed, and time spent on the site
• Cart and checkout activity (via cookies)
• Referring website (how you found us)

d) Communications
If you contact us via the Contact Form, email, phone, or WhatsApp, we collect the information you share with us, including your name, contact details, and the content of your message.

3. Payment Processing and Methods

We offer more than one way to pay for our courses, described below.

Razorpay (online payments): processed through Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. By making an online payment, you also agree to Razorpay’s own terms and privacy policy, which governs how your payment credentials are collected, processed, and secured. We are not responsible for Razorpay’s data handling practices beyond what is disclosed to us as transaction records (order ID, amount, and payment status).

Manual UPI transfer: when you pay us directly via UPI, the transaction itself takes place through your own UPI app/bank (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, or your banking app), which has its own privacy and security practices. We only receive the reference number or screenshot you choose to share with us for verification, and we do not have access to your UPI PIN or linked bank account credentials.

Cash payments: handled entirely offline; no digital payment data is transmitted, stored, or shared with any third party.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Website uses cookies to support core e-commerce functionality (such as maintaining your shopping cart and checkout session via WooCommerce), keep you logged into your account, and, where enabled, understand site traffic through analytics tools such as Google Analytics. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings; however, disabling essential cookies may prevent checkout and account features from working correctly.

5. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only with:

• Razorpay, to process online payments securely (not applicable for manual UPI or cash payments)
• Courier and logistics partners, only if you order a physical product, solely to facilitate delivery to your shipping address (limited to your name, phone number, and shipping address)
• Trusted service providers who support our website operations, such as web hosting, email, and WhatsApp/SMS communication providers, bound by confidentiality obligations
• Government authorities, law enforcement, or courts, where required by applicable law
• Professional advisors (such as accountants) for legitimate business, tax, or compliance purposes

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Payment details are handled by Razorpay under its own PCI-DSS compliant security infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cross-Border Data Transfer

We use certain third-party tools — such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and our web hosting provider — that may store or process data on servers located outside India. By using our Website, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to, and processed in, jurisdictions outside India, where such tools operate, in accordance with the DPDP Act and applicable law. We take reasonable steps to ensure such third parties maintain adequate data protection standards.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and order information for as long as your account remains active, and thereafter for as long as necessary to comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations under Indian law (typically several years for financial records), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Marketing communications data is retained until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe.

9. Refunds and Cancellations

Information related to refunds and cancellations (such as order ID, refund amount, and refund status) is processed in accordance with our Refund and Returns Policy. Refunds, where applicable, are issued back through the original payment method used — via Razorpay for online payments, via UPI transfer for manual UPI payments, or in cash for cash payments.

10. Your Rights

As a data principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and accounting retention obligations
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Raise a grievance regarding how your personal information has been handled

11. Children’s Privacy

Our Website and courses are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account or shared information with us, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

Our Website may contain links to third-party websites or tools not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites, and encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
